water fun-and fireworks
The sun was too bright-but a few turned out cute!
it was a joke trying to take pictures of three kids by myself!
Parades, little feet marching to the beet of the marching band, snow cones, barbecue, watermelon, water fun, sparklers, ice cream, fire works, laying on a blanket under the stars, cute red white and blue pajamas, sleeping kids............heaven. We had a busy but exciting day on the fourth of July. We woke up early and got ready to go to the big parade. The boys looked so cute in their 4th of July outfits that I had to stop and take some pictures of them on the way. The parade was nice. It was overcast, and thanks to Ryan's Dad for getting a spotfor of all of us at 4:00 A.M. we had a front row seat. After the parade, we went to Ryan's uncles house for a BBQ, and the kids LOVED playing on the water slide, in the kiddie pools, with water toys, and just being with so many other kids. We had to drag them away because they needed a nap since we would be up late watching the fireworks. At about 7:00 we went and got our usual firework watching spot on nice big grassy spot with a great view. The kids ran around, played games, met some other kids, we lit sparklers, and when it finally got dark, we saw an amazing firework show. By the time we got back home they were all fast asleep-worn out from the busy day. Today after work, I finally went and developed some pictures from one of our memory cards. I haven't developed any since last winter, so I had about 700 pictures on just one of the cards. It made me feel guilty for not scapbooking any pictures of Joey yet-I'll get on that. Oaklie is sleeping over tonight. We went on a nice bike ride before they went to bed. She is such a good kid , I want to keep her! Her great grandma died unexpectedly this morning so her mom has been busy with funeral arrangements. Her and Davy love to play house. Tonight they were pretending their parent, grandparents, and friends all died, and they were taking care of each other. I could tell they were a little curious about , so for FHE we talked about our purpose on earth, and how it's not sad when we die, and that we will get to be with our loved ones again. I told them that Oaklies Grandma was probably doing something that she loved to do right now. I asked her what she loved to do, and she said "she loves to give me treats" We ended the night with everyone getting treats. I hope that I am remembered as the nice grandma that loved to spoil her grand kids. Sudden and unexpected gives me a new perspective on life. Live everyday like it could be your last!

Sounds like your 4th was pretty close to ours.
And I bet ya you will be known as the nice grandma...Im hoping I will too. Cause I dont think Im going to be remembered as the nice mom. lol.
It looks like you all had a blast on the fourth of july! We all couldn't believe it in St. George they don't have a parade, we were pretty bummed. But we still had a great time.
When my great grandma died when I was a kid, we played funeral. Sounds so creepy but it helped us deal with the emotions. UNTIL... I sat on our toy box that was acting as the casket. Candice (my sis) was still inside. She screamed and screamed and I kept laughing so hard. My mom got SO mad at me. My sister is still a little uneasy at funerals. ;) You're a good mom and aunt. I'm pretty sure Oaklie will never forget what you taught her.
What an awesome 4th! I love all the pictures - looks like the kids had tons of fun. I can't believe we are this far into the summer already.

1. There is this girl that in the past has had seizures when she gets a fever or the flu. Well, she got a fever and was freaking out so I stayed next to her all night. It was scary since we were in the middle of nowhere.
2. It rained and a girls sleeping bag got soaked. I decided I would rather sleep with a towel and let her use my sleeping bag then hear her wine about how cold she was.
3. Sorry, the smoothie was downed in about 5 min. I promise I will make you one next time you visit (If you remind me).
Wow, your 4th of July pictures turned out so cute! You'll definitely have to let me know where that place is!
