Today was an historic day! Ryan installed the toe kicks in our kitchen, and the trim above the bead board in our bedroom (it only took him 5 yrs to get around to it :). It all looks so nice. I'll have to clean my room so I can take a picture of it for all of you. He hasn't been completely swamped this week, for the first time in 5 yrs, and decided it was "my turn". He even said that we would remodel the bathrooms hopefully this weekend-or next. Cross your fingers for me:)
Ok, now for the other good new. Last week I saved $300 on a medical bill (from when Joey was born-We just recently got the bill after some mix ups with insurance billing), by calling the hospital to argue a bill that was higher than what the insurance explanation said it should be. Be sure the keep those "explanation of benefits" form your insurance Company to compare your medical bills with because they are often wrong. Today, I saved $200 on Danny's E.R. bill from a few months ago by calling the hospital to go over the bill. It turned out that the insurance had already paid the amount and we weren't responsible for that $200. Hey, that's $500 right there that we would have easily just sent in thinking that we owed it, and not thought much about it. With all this money saving, and my "need" for sun, and the fact that Ryan isn't swamped right now, Ryan and I have decided that we are "due" for a cruise to someplace warm. We have never gone away without the kids, not even for one night! There are so many great deals on cruises now. You can go for under $300 dollars/each in many cases. If anyone else out there feels the same way, and wants to come along, let me know. We would love to have another couple to go with. We probably won't go 'till late February, or March so it will be warm. I'm thinking we'll leave out of California so we can drive there. THINK ABOUT IT!!!

Pure jealousy coming from right here!!! Thats awesome!!! Hope you guys have a great time! YOu deserve it!
We just got back from a Mexican cruise. We loved Cabo and we went fishing and caught a Marlin. It was so much fun. We also saw whales right by us while we were fishing. We didn't like Ensenada and thought it was a dive. But we had a great time on our cruise. Go with people that like to do the things you like and you will have a blast!
LUCKY!!! Way to reward yourself for good budgeting & awareness.
I am so excited for you. You will really really really love it.
We are still waiting for a chance to see the boys....and you of course.
There's no waiting involved. All you have to do is call and say, "We're on our way over, fix something good to eat!" We'd love to see you anytime. It would be fun to go sledding. Let me know when you get a craving for snow in your face:)
I told Paul we should go on a cruise before our 10th anniversary ... so we've got just under 2 years to go. Unfortunately we're looking at getting more space before the cruise ... but that will provide more sanity for me anyway. :) Sounds like it will be a BLAST! Let me know if you need help w/the boys.
If Ryan's still slow, you could remind him that I'm still being extra patient while waiting for my toe kicks and upper kitchen cabinets. ;) It's only been ONE year for us. I'm SO glad you got your room done!! How fun!
sounds like fun, hope that all goes well, I wish we could come, but I have my heart set on spending money on a few expensive new electronic toys. we will see if that happens any times soon.
Thank you for the super bowl invite. We have late church and then a dinner so I don't think this Sunday will work.
We are hoping to get Ben mingling with the ladies this weekend at an activity. Report soon to come.
That sounds like so much fun Liz! I love reading your blog. You should check ours out! http://harbisons.blogspot.com
