Christmas Report

Christmas has come and gone so fast. I tell myself every year that next year I'll prepare better in advance. I'll get those Christmas cards out early, and I'll think of the most perfect gifts for everyone instead of the last minute madness that usually occurs. Christmas was nice however. Nothing too big. Our boys are still young enough that they don't ask for too much, and appreciate everything so much. A few quotes from Davy on Christmas morning; "Wow I got an orange in my stocking, Santa knew I love oranges. Mom look, Floss and my own toothpaste in my stocking. I needed some new floss, this is the best present ever!!! Gummy worms, I always wanted my own bag of gummy worms-Wow!"
It's nice to know that little things can be appreciated, I'll remember next year that I don't need to worry so much about getting the perfect toys for him, just some simple things make him happy.
After the morning madness here, we went to Ryan's mom's house for breakfast, and an insane amount of present opening. They overdo it every year, leaving me wondering where we will put so many toys. I'm not crazy about the material part of Christmas. I would much rather keep it very simple, and focus on the true meaning of it all. After the present opening, everyone else went home. We hooked up the sleds to the four wheelers and had some fun in the snow. When we got home the boys all took naps, while I cleaned up the mess. We then just hung out and relaxed, and helped put together all of their new toys. It is sad that it is all past, but in a way, I'm relieved to have it over. Someday maybe I'll get my wish of a simple Christmas without so many presents, and more focused on Christ. I hope everyone had a wonderful day.
PS: BEN GREAT JOB ON ACING YOUR TEST TO GET INTO GRAD SCHOOL-ON THE FIRST TRY!!!!

I love that my kids are very easily pleased as well. They didn't get what they asked Santa for, but Santa wrote them a note explaining that he thought they'd like what they got instead, and they did.

My SIL (her kids are still VERY young) says she's going to just give each one three gifts -- one from Santa, one from parents and one from siblings. A good idea, but I love watching my kids open more than that ... even the small things like floss and toothpaste. :)

Glad you had a great day!

Liz-

Marae & I were thinking of coming to UT on Monday so she can get an apartment and I have to take a food prep class. We were wondering if we could crash at your place for a couple of nights until she finds an apt.? You could put us to work or think of some other great exchange.

Thanks sis-
We are planning on coming on Monday because that's when the weather is supposed to let up & Marae sings in church on Sunday and we have to return things on our way out at sierra trading post as well as take shopping breaks. We will plan on arriving sometime after you get off work. Can't wait to see the Jensens.

Ty loves looking on here and finding Danny. LOL. I think Ty has strep. Hes been sick since Saturday. Took him to the doc today and the rapid test came back neg. They are going to sent it out for the overnighter because the doc is pretty sure its strep. He looks pathetic. I feel bad for the little stinker.
