Last Sunday we had our traditional family party for Joey. I made peach cobbler with Dryers Fried Ice cream on the side (if you haven't tried this kind of ice cream it's a must-especially with cobbler). I made cupcakes also so that Joey could have the joy of making a mess with his first birthday cake. Joey isn't big on toys, but he loved the balls that he got from grandma Crista, and Grandma Jan. Ryan's dad gave him some of the Book of Mormon living scriptures DVDs (Ryan and I were happy about that so that we won't have to buy them), He also got some new PJ's, and the Wii (which Davy was quite excited about), along with some new pacifiers, crib sheets, socks, sippy cups (all of the unexciting things that only a one year old appreciates). My kids get spoiled from their grandparents, aunts and uncles. I find myself buying them less for birthdays and Christmas because after they see Grandma there is an overload of presents!!! Joey loved digging into the cake, and playing with the tissue paper from his presents. It was a typical one year birthday. Since Joey has turned One, he thinks he needs to climb on EVERYTHING! His favorite climb however is to sneak into the office and climb up onto the desk chair, and then onto the computer desk to play with the keyboard. I have to watch him more than ever now.
