Time for Cinnamon rolls and Hot Coco

Fall has come so quickly, and now it seems that we are heading right into winter! The weather said it may snow this weekend! I'm definitely not ready for that. This week I have taken up baking again. Ryan loves a good cinnamon roll, so I decided to spoil him with cinnamon rolls this week. I've made them three times, and they seem to disappear very quickly. On Monday night for family home evening we took some homemade rolls, and soup up to the reservoir to watch the sun set, and collect fall leaves. The kids loved it and it made me wish we had done it more often before the cold weather came in. Last weekend was General Conference. I look forward to it every year. I enjoyed watching all of the Saturday sessions but I was not as lucky on Sunday. Right as it was starting, Danny came up screaming with gushing out of his mouth. He had jumped off a ledge with a 3/8 inch wooden dowel in his mouth. It made a big hole in the back of his mouth. I took him to the insti-care, but then later Ryan and I ended up taking him to the E.R. because he couldn't swallow, or talk. He was in a lot of pain, and getting dehydrated. After some numbing mouth wash, and some pain meds. He was as good as new. It was a good lesson on why we don't put things like that in our mouths. We are all doing well, and enjoying our time together. Ryan only has one more week of his 16 hour days. He has to have this last big job done by Monday, and then he will take a well deserved week off.

Aghhh! Oh, that makes me cringe just thinking about it. That is one part of motherhood that I am most definitely NOT good at. When my kids are hurt I have such a hard time staying calm, especially if blood is involved. I'm sure you were the anchor in the situation so kudos to you.

When Wes was 20 months, we were up in Canada for Christmas and my mom was making pies. Their oven was made in Canada and a piece of crud. All the heat from the oven was venting up through the back burner, the one that Wesley decided to put his hands on when I wasn't looking. Oh it was awful. Full imprints of the burner on his poor little hands. Scott kept running them under freezing cold water for about a half hour and it took all his strength Wes was thrashing so bad.

That happened about 7:30am, and he screamed for the next two hours while I paced the house cuddling him trying to provide some type of comfort. He finally fell asleep on me (which was a little uncomfortable considering I was big pregnant with Olivia) and slept for three hours. Poor guy. I HATE it when kids get hurt!

I hope Danny's doing better. You're all troopers. Take care!

SO glad he's okay! I am going to totally freak if (I should say WHEN) my boys do things like this!
