Sick and tired!

Fun at the park!

Davy's preschool friends

first day of school- They love to sit and look at the dog

I always have eager helper when it's time to make dinner!

There should be a rule for new trumpet players. They should have everyone in the neighborhood sign a release of peace and quiet. Yesterday someone in the neighborhood decided that they would serenade us with their beginning trumpet skills. It was most enjoyable even after they continued to practice into the night. (Heidi, I hope this wasn't coming from your house :) I haven't posted any new exciting information lately mainly because there has been a big lack of excitement at our house this past week. Last Saturday I woke up sick (Joey had been sick for the entire week + and had barely gotten better the day before) I usually don't mind being sick every once in a while. It's usually the only time I get to stay in bed past 6:00 am, and I can't complain about the few pounds I usually lose from all of the puking, and fasting. This was not the case this time however. Ryan had a golf tournament and then he went to work 'till 10:00 at night. Danny was also sick. He wanted to be held and puked on me more times than I want to remember. Davy got sick later in the night, and was his usual drama king self each time he would puke. Joey was the only one at home not sick, and he was his busy self. The worst part of the day was having to get up to make the kids meals. You know the feeling when you are sick and you are freezing, until you stand up and suddenly feel like your on fire, and will surely faint. I'm sure it was funny to see me laying on the cold wood floor in the kitchen trying to get enough energy to get up and give Joey another bite of food. I was grateful for the soup and sprite that Amy brought over, It kept us alive. The best part of it however was the next morning. We all woke up feeling great. It was like Christmas morning for my kids. Danny and Davy ran out of their room excited and jumping up and down because they were better. It made me realize how we have trials and hardships to appreciate our health and blessings. I am every grateful for my health, and the health of my family. I also give a up to all the the single moms that have to do it all on their own all of the time. It is nice to have an extra pair of hands when things get rough.
Davy started preschool last week. I taught the first week, and for the next 4 weeks he rotates to the other boys moms. There are 5 boys in our co-op preschool. They are all good friends, and have a great time together. Other than preschool we have enjoyed a few story times at the library, some bike rides, walks to the park, cooking together, and just hanging out at home. This week is supposed to be nice. We hope to get a few more fun activities in before the weather turns cold. Ryan has been working 60+ hours this past week. He is swamped at work, but doesn't want to turn down any big jobs. I hope he doesn't work himself to the bone . It will be nice when things slow down a little for him so he can relax a little.

Ok, first off, the wonderful serenade was I think a saxophone, and it was coming from another neighbors house, I definately agree that it was kindof obnoxious. I am really sorry you were so sick. I wish I would have known sooner, I could have helped out a little. Amy is the greatest for getting you soup, etc. She is a wonderful friend. I am glad that you are feeling better, and that the rest of your family is. Wow, I can't believe that you have started preschool. It looks like you have a fun group of little guys there. Hope the year goes well for you all.

Ok, Liz, I hope you don't get offended because I'm going to rebuke you a little ;)...

...if you don't call me the next time you're sick and need some help, I think that maybe we can't be friends anymore. Grrr. I would have taken Joey all day in a heartbeat and I could have too. I know that you are INCREDIBLY self-sufficient and a wonder-woman, but it is probably sinful that you had to deal with that yourself...and sinful that we didn't help you. I'm not really kidding about that either. Please please call me!!!

I was sick with the flu yesterday and by 10:30am I just couldn't do it anymore with the kids running circles around me, while I lay wanting to die on the couch (I hate having the flu when I'm pregnant, I'm such a wimp), so I made Scott take Wes to work with him (granted it was lunch and then naptime and he played on the swings and sandbox...and truth be told Scott didn't get as much done as usual), but Liz seriously, please call me next time!

We're sisters in Zion, that's what we're supposed to be doing. You've done those kind of things for me, please let me do it for you!!!!! You stubborn little vixen! I really am serious... please!!!!

I'm glad the misery only lasted one day for you though, and that you're feeling better! And I hope you're not too offended by my rampage. ;) I'm really quite ashamed that I had no idea.

So sorry you were sick. You really should call in the friend troops to your rescue. :) I don't think any mom would get a kick out of seeing you on the floor trying to get energy! Yet another example of how a mom really never gets time off ...

So glad you're feeling better!
