Over the hill!

So my 30th birthday has come and.....and I didn't even fall into a deep dark depression. When Ryan asked what I wanted to do for my birthday, I told him I wanted to hike to the top of Timpanogas Mountain with him. He was a trooper to agree. We left the kids overnight at his Dad's house (which was so nice because we were able to sneek in a fun double date with some friends to play some mini golf, batting cages, and go carts the night before the hike). We got to the mountain at about 7:00 A.M. (I had planned on getting there at around 5:30 but we slept a little longer). It was a great hike up. We made the 8 miles to the top by about 11:30, and enjoyed a quick lunch with a great view. It felt good to get some funny compliments for hiking that far while pregnant ( "You Go Girl!", " Hiking this pregnant,You're my hero", "way to go" "wow, you're amazing!") On the way down however, we decided that it might be our only 16 mile hike up a very steep mountain that we will ever do. Our toes, ankles, knees, and even a few more places ached more than ever before by the time we made it back to the car, but we were so glad we did it. I thought doing the big hike would make me feel younger for my 30th birthday, but the hike down sure made me feel OLD!!! After the big hike, we enjoyed dinner at our favorite restaurant P.F. Changs, and then went to pick up the kids. It was a GREAT day. Ryan has spoiled me with great massages on my oh so sore leg muscles, and lots of chocolate. He is a keeper! He has even help me can for several late nights, I keep coming home with great fruit. Oh, and he even made me fresh peach crisp for my birthday since I don't like cake. What a great Man I have! Thanks for the greatest birthday yet Ryan!!!

Glad to hear your b-day was great! You'll know you really are feeling old when you don't even THINK of hiking, let alone doing it. :)

I'm sure you'll survive your 30s just fine. :)

Seriously, you go prego!!! What an ideal birthday & I bet you enjoyed PF Changs that much more.

Sorry I didn't get back to you about coldwater creek, but everything was pretty lamo old lady looking.

Give the boys hugs for me. Any word on the baby's gender?

How great! You're amazing. My sis Sarah and David hiked it in August and said it was so scary - all the ledges and places where you could slip. They also said they died when they had to come down -- all those aching muscles. I LOVE hiking but I don't want to do it :) When do you find out the gender of your baby?? I am dying to know. Oh - and I was over at the Jensens picking up Ashley to babysit when your kids were there :) Where do you keep getting great fruit? I just did peaches...

Happy birthday! We had a great time at Trafalga with you! Sorry we had to take off a little early. I scoured for that coupon as soon as we got home...but even though I found the money mailer that I had gotten the previous week as well, it was the wrong size so we must get different ones. Shucks! That was a great deal. I'll watch for something in the future!

You're looking fantastic!!!!
